When women are preparing to conceive, they often check their ovulation cycle. This is because ovulation is the time when the egg is released out of the ovary and is an important stage for pregnancy. So, if ovulation doesn't happen normally, it can also cause infertility.
In this regard, a study was published in 2017 with the results of a study showing that inositol intake significantly shortened the period of ovulation induction [2].
If you are a healthy woman of childbearing age, you will have your period every 26-32 days. On the other hand, amenorrhea, a typical symptom of polycystic ovary syndrome, is when a woman who had menstruation has not had a menstrual period for more than three times the previous menstrual cycle, or has not had a menstrual period for more than six months.
In this regard, a paper published in Gynecological Endocrinology in 2007 revealed the results of a study showing that women with polycystic ovary syndrome restored their menstrual cycles when they took inositol [3].
"Of the 25 patients (88%), they regained at least one spontaneous menstrual cycle during treatment, and 18 of them (72%) maintained normal ovulation activity during the follow-up period."
Today, we looked at the benefits of taking inositol in a paper. Lastly, if you are overweight or obese and have polycystic ovary syndrome, it is recommended that you combine diet and exercise as losing weight will help improve your symptoms.
I hope you have a healthy day in body and mind. It was Jinny.
