Effects of Salmon DNA
1. Improves blemishes, pores, wrinkles, and irregularities
2. Improves skin elasticity
3. Promotes hyaluronic acid production

Hello, I am Jinny, a pharmacist.

I think there are many people who are interested in how to be reborn as skin like a freshly peeled boiled egg, and after there 30s, skin like smooth porcelain that fills up from inside.

The treatment that has recently attracted the most attention both at home and abroad in relation to skin regeneration is the so-called ‘salmon injection’, which uses salmon DNA. This treatment is gaining popularity as word-of-mouth spreads that it is effective in improving skin texture, pores, redness, and elasticity.

Today, we will look into the benefits of DNA extracted from salmon testes (milt), the key ingredient of this salmon injection, to the skin through a paper.

1. Improves Blemishes, Pores, Wrinkles, and Irregularities

Skin elasticity’ is something that is of little interest to people in their teens and 20s, but becomes a major concern from their late 20s to early 30s. The main reason why skin elasticity decreases as we age is a decline in skin regeneration ability is a decrease in cell production ability. Accordingly, research has continued whether supplementation of DNA, the core blueprint for creating cells, can help skin elasticity and regeneration. In particular, DNA extracted from salmon testes is very similar to DNA extracted from human liver and has attracted attention as a potential new material.

In 2008, the results of a human application study was published in the Japanese journal Cosmetic Stage evaluating the effect of salmon DNA treatment on skin condition.

“It was recognized that the appearance of blemishes, pores, wrinkles, and irregularities on the skin decreased following consumption of salmon DNA-na for 4 weeks.”

2. Improves Skin Elasticity

As academic research has accumulated showing that salmon DNA treatment can have a significant effect on improving human skin conditions, new studies have been conducted to reexamine the indicators measured in previous studies. In particular, research was focused on the ‘elasticity’ of the skin, which determines pores, wrinkles, and irregularities.

In 2010, the results of a human application study was published in the International Journal of Cosmetic Science evaluating the effect of salmon DNA treatment on skin condition.

"Skin elasticity was significantly improved. (omitted) As a result of the survey, more than 90% of the subjects responded that skin roughness was improved."

3. Promotes Hyaluronic Acid Production

In the study introduced earlier, we confirmed through human application tests that treatment with salmon DNA had a significant effect on improving skin condition, and then conducted research to understand the mechanism. This study reveals the mechanism by which salmon DNA works to improve skin condition.

“These results show that salmon DNA-Na promotes hyaluronic acid production in human dermal fibroblasts. Collectively, the data from this study suggest that salmon DNA-Na may improve skin condition.”

Today, we briefly looked at the main functions of salmon DNA that have been verified by academia.

I hope you have a healthy day both physically and mentally. This was Jinny.
