Why do I have a lump in my neck?

In general, if you feel a lump on your neck, there are three most common causes: epidermal cysts, lipomas, and lymphadenitis.

First, an epidermoid cyst is a sebaceous gland tumor that develops in places that secrete a lot of sebum.

Second, lymphadenitis is a condition in which the lymph enlarges as the body's immune system develops.

Third, lipomas are lumps of fat that become benign tumors.

Among them, epidermal cysts usually grow to a relatively large size, and lymphadenitis has a slim shape that is difficult to see with the eye.

And so much more. Some people develop cysts due to mosquito tumors, thyroid duct cysts, and congenital cysts. It can also be caused by myositis, which is a lump in the muscles, and inflammation of the fat layer.

How to tell the difference between benign vs malignant bruises?

Bibonic ones are small in size and have a soft appearance. However, malignancy is characterized by being hard and bumpy. So, by the doctor's hand, it is possible to distinguish whether it is benign or malignant about 70% of the time.

What is at risk?

If you have a fever in your body, and you have long-lasting symptoms of dryness, emaciation, and lack of energy, you should be examined immediately. Even if you don't have any of these symptoms, if you have palpable lymph nodes in your neck for more than two months, you may need to perform a biopsy, which will confirm malignancy.

Even if it is a benign lump, if the tumor is not removed continuously, it will cause a lot of scars on the neck due to infection, and there is a high possibility that the tumor will form a scar even when it is removed after it has already grown a lot. Therefore, it is best to go to the hospital as soon as possible after detection and undergo modern medical surgery.
