Pharmacist who reads papers
For easy-to-open and pulling skin during the transition period, 'this' is perfect.
1. Increased skin moisture
2. Promotes fibroblasts
3. Skin tissue repair
Hello. I'm a pharmacist Jinny.
It's almost the end of October. The weather has been nice lately, but how is your skin doing? My lips are already starting to chap, and after washing my face, I feel a tightness in my face. During this changing season, the moisture balance of the skin is easily disturbed, and many people suffer from dryness, redness, and troubles.
Today, we'd like to introduce some ingredients that can help those with these skin concerns. It is hyaluronic acid, a powerful moisturizing factor for our body that can contain 300~1000 times more moisture than its own weight.
1. Increased skin hydration
Hyaluronic acid is a polysaccharide found in the skin, joint fluid, cartilage, and tears of the human body with excellent viscoelasticity and moisturizing ability. Fifty percent of the hyaluronic acid in the body is located in the skin, which retains moisture and stabilizes the skin's structure.
Academics have focused on the role of hyaluronic acid that is already present in the human body and have conducted research to see if there are similar benefits when hyaluronic acid is taken orally. In 2014, a paper was published in the Nutrition Journal on the effects of hyaluronic acid consumption on dry skin [1].
"In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical study, it was found that ingested HA (hyaluronic acid) increased skin hydration and improved treatment outcomes for patients with dry skin."
2. Improve the speed of information processing for infants
Fibroblasts are the most important cells in connective tissue, and they are the cells that synthesize tissue components such as collagen. The aforementioned study also showed that hyaluronic acid promotes fibroblasts [2].
"The aforementioned reports suggest that both small molecule and high molecule HA (hyaluronic acid) are delivered to the skin and affect fibroblasts, promoting HA (hyaluronic acid) synthesis and cell proliferation, thereby contributing to skin hydration."
3. Helps reduce body mass
As a result of the accumulation of studies on the benefits of hyaluronic acid intake on skin hydration and cell proliferation, a paper was published in Front Vet Sci in 2019 suggesting the potential use of hyaluronic acid for medical purposes [3].
"Hyaluronic acid as a biologically active molecule that regulates the tissue repair process at multiple stages should be considered as a safe and effective option for skin repair."
Today, we looked at the many benefits of hyaluronic acid in a paper. Remember that in order to keep your skin healthy, it is essential to moisturize it all year round.
I hope you have a healthy day in body and mind. It was Jinny.[1,2] Kawada C, Yoshida T, Yoshida H, Matsuoka R, Sakamoto W, Odanaka W, Sato T, Yamasaki T, Kanemitsu T, Masuda Y, Urushibata O. Ingested hyaluronan moisturizes dry skin. Nutr J. 2014 Jul 11;13:70. doi: 10.1186/1475-2891-13-70.
