Hello, I am Jinny, a pharmacist.
White and smooth skin is the beauty that many people desire, regardless of gender. These days, as the UV index increases, many people seem to be particularly interested in skin whitening.
The procedure that is receiving the most attention both at home and abroad in relation to skin whitening is
‘whitening injection.’
This is a treatment that helps
whiten the skin by injecting glutathione, a powerful antioxidant,
into the body to remove free radicals and toxins from cells and inhibit the synthesis of melanin pigment.
Today, we will look into the paper to see whether there are benefits to the skin when consuming glutathione, the key ingredient in this white jade injection.

1. Skin Whitening
We all know that the factor that determines the color of our skin is melanin. Reports that
glutathione
affects melanin pigmentation index have continued to accumulate in academia.
Based on these previous studies, in 2012, the results of a randomized, double-blind clinical study was published in The Journal of dermatological treatment examining the effect of oral glutathione intake on
improving melanin index
in healthy adults.
|
“All 60 subjects completed the study, and the melanin index of the glutathione intake group continued to decrease in all six body parts observed over four weeks of intake.”

2. Reduce Skin Wrinkles and Improve Elasticity/span>
Glutathione
functions as a powerful
antioxidant
within our bodies. Antioxidation means preventing cell oxidation caused by harmful oxygen in the body and is closely related to anti-aging.
Accordingly, in a paper published in Cosmetic and Investigational Dermatology in 2017, a clinical study was conducted to evaluate the effect of oral intake of reduced and oxidized glutathione on
skin aging indicators,
and the results were reported as follows.
|
“A significant reduction in wrinkles was observed in the reduced glutathione intake group compared to the placebo intake group, and a tendency for skin elasticity to increase was observed in both the reduced glutathione intake group and the oxidized glutathione intake group.”

3. Anti-Aging
Reporting the results of a clinical study to evaluate the effect of
oral intake of glutathione on skin aging indicators,
this paper presents the conclusion of the study as follows.
|
“In summary, oral intake of reduced and oxidized glutathione has various benefits on skin properties and shows that it may perform an anti-aging function, at least in middle-aged women.”

Today, we briefly looked at the main functions of glutathione that have been verified in academia.
I hope you have a healthy day both physically and mentally.
