Beneficial bacteria of the mother to the intestines of the baby

The mother's acidity keeps the vagina acidic, killing harmful bacteria that enter the vagina from the anus and allowing only the beneficial bacteria to survive. The intestines of the fetus are naturally sterile. It's because my mom is protecting me. During delivery, the baby's head passes through the birth canal and the lips come into contact with the vaginal wall, and the mother's beneficial bacteria descend into the baby's intestines for the first time. The first gift a mother gives her baby is probiotics.

Things to keep in mind when having a cesarean section

However, with a cesarean section, germs in the air first settle in the intestines through the baby's mouth. Recent studies have shown that babies born with a prescribing of antibiotics in a hospital have more harmful bacteria in the intestines, such as Clostridium, than babies delivered at home at a midwifery. Therefore, it is recommended that pregnant women take probiotics daily to increase the beneficial bacteria in the vagina.
