Improving brain fatigue? The true identity of "this" in black garlic

1. Improves
brain fatigue2. Improves
sleep quality
3. Improve your ability to perform tasks

Hello. I'm a pharmacist Jinny.

Have you ever heard of 'garlic injection'? Garlic injections, which are said to be used by celebrities and athletes, are sought by many people for the purpose of recovering from fatigue. These garlic injections are based on a combination of thiamine and allicin, which is found in garlic.

However, recently, garlic has been found to have a better fatigue recovery mechanism than allicin, and it is attracting the attention of the academic community. It's called 'SAC'. SAC (S-allyl-L-cysteine) is a substance produced in garlic like allithiamine, and is said to have various effects such as anti-fatigue, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, and immunity.

So, let's take a look at how SAC can help with fatigue in this paper.

1. Improves brain fatigue

Brain fatigue is a situation in which the hypothalamus, which regulates blood pressure, hormones, body temperature, and pulse, gradually decreases. However, this speed is very slow, so subjective symptoms are not easily apparent on the outside. This brain fatigue affects not only the brain, but also the entire body. Symptoms of brain fatigue include heaviness, dizziness in the head, frequent forgetfulness, and frequent headaches.

SAC has been studied as an ingredient that can help improve brain fatigue. When 20 adult men and women were given 2mg of SAC for 4 weeks, it was found to improve brain fatigue.

"This highly SAC garlic extract is extremely involvement-free and can reduce fatigue that occurs almost exclusively in brain activity."

2. Improves sleep quality

Sleep is the surest way for your brain to rest. However, simply sleeping for a long time does not relieve fatigue.

Studies have shown that people who are unable to fall asleep and wake up frequently are more likely to have physical and mental symptoms such as fatigue, headaches, and anxiety, as well as mood disorders [2]. Therefore, the depth and quality of sleep is the key to fatigue recovery.

In a 2019 clinical trial that looked at the effects of SACs on sleep, it was found that those who took SACs experienced a decrease in the number of awakenings during sleep and improved sleep quality [3].

"Continuous intake of SAC significantly improved sleep quality after 3~4 weeks of intake compared to the placebo group, and the number of awakenings during sleep decreased."

3. Improve your ability to perform tasks

The UK test* is a test method that diagnoses a subject's ability to perform a task based on the amount of work and the nature of the work obtained when the subject performs continuous addition for a certain period of time. These UK tests have also been used in the SamO Electronics Job Aptitude Test and the Police Civil Service Exam.

*UK Test (Uchida-Krepelin Mental Work Test): A test used to diagnose mental work ability, concentration, and intelligence.

In a 2017 study, SAC groups showed a significant increase in the number of tasks on the UK test. They also found that SAC supplementation reduced stress levels and increased concentration [4].

"In the UK test, there was a significant increase in the number of tasks after four weeks of intake in the test group, but there was no significant change in the placebo group. In addition, SAC intake suppressed stress spikes and increased concentration."

Today, we looked at how SAC can help improve brain fatigue through an academic paper. While it's great to take ingredients like SAC to improve brain fatigue, the most important thing is to improve your lifestyle.

First, it's important to go to bed no later than 2 a.m. In the first 90 minutes after going to sleep, growth hormone is secreted, which plays a crucial role in relieving fatigue. This growth hormone is most secreted between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m.

It's also a good idea to get some sun. When we are exposed to the sun, our body synthesizes serotonin, also known as the "happiness hormone" [5], and serotonin also plays a role in the synthesis of the hormone melatonin, which is released when we sleep [6].

So, I hope you have a healthy day in body and mind. It was Jinny.
