[Collagen Synergy Ingredients] Introducing the three vitamins that help collagen

Introducing the three vitamins, a strong helper that helps collagen

Collagen Synergy Ingredients
1. Vitamin C to promote collagen synthesis
2. Vitamin E to reduce collagen breakdown
3. Combination to boost collagen synthesis, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin E
Hello. A pharmacist who reads a dissertation.
Recently , more and more people are taking collagen for skin health . However, not all collagen is used as connective tissue in the body even if it is supplemented in sufficient amount, and it is also degraded by various environmental factors.

Therefore, in order to receive more direct help to skin health through collagen intake,  it is important to supplement the nutrients that help collagen synthesis together. Today, for a smarter collagen intake, I would  like to introduce three vitamins responsible for synergy with collagen .
1. Vitamin C to stimulate collagen synthesis
I think there are not many people who do not know about the efficacy/effect of vitamin C. It is formulated in almost all multivitamins on the market, and is a nutrient that is widely used as a drink when you need to stay up all night and as a sap when you feel tired. But did  you know that vitamin C also plays an important role in collagen synthesis? Because of this, a lack of vitamin C results in scurvy, which weakens tissues such as gums and muscles.

In 1998,  a paper was reported in Int J Cosmet Sci that studied the effect of vitamin C on collagen synthesis in the normal human body .
“ Vitamin C thus promotes the synthesis of a normal mature collagen network by maintaining optimal lysyl and prolyl hydroxylase activity. ”
Reference paper: Boyera N, Galey I, Bernard BA (1998). Effect of vitamin C and its derivatives on collagen synthesis and cross-linking by normal human fibroblasts. Int J Cosmet Sci, 20(3):151-8.
2. Vitamin E to reduce collagen breakdown
Relatively less is known about the efficacy/effectiveness of vitamin E compared to vitamin C. However, vitamin E is a very important antioxidant nutrient in that it destroys free radicals, which are the waste products of oxygen and nutrients in our body.

The antioxidant activity of vitamin E has a great effect on the collagen that composes tissues. A study published in J Clin Periodontol in 1994 found that  vitamin E acts as an antioxidant and reduces collagen breakdown .
“ As a result, the antioxidants vitamin E and selenium reduced collagen degradation in the granulation tissue of the experiment. ”
Reference papers: Asman B, Wijkander P, Hjerpe A (1994). Reduction of collagen degradation in experimental granulation tissue by vitamin E and selenium. J Clin Periodontol, 21(1):45-7.
3. A combination that boosts collagen synthesis, vitamin A, vitamin C, and vitamin E
In addition, a research paper was published in Biomed Pharmacother in 2004  comparing the results of collagen synthesis with vitamins A, C, and E, either individually or in combination.
“ As expected, ascorbate (vitamin C) stimulated collagen accumulation. (omitted) The effect was further amplified when three vitamins (vitamin A, vitamin C, and vitamin E) were present. "
Reference papers: Robert L, Fodil-Bourahla I, Bizbiz L, Robert AM (2004). Effects of L-fucose and fucose-rich oligo- and polysaccharides (FROP-s) on collagen biosynthesis by human skin fibroblasts. Modulation of the effect of retinol, ascorbate and alpha-tocopherol. Biomed Pharmacother, 58(1):65-70.
Today  , I discovered the three vitamins that I am grateful for that help collagen . However, no matter how hard you supplement these nutrients, the rate of collagen synthesis decreases when exposed to UV rays, so you should always pay attention to UV protection for skin health.
I hope you have a healthy body and mind. More than that, it was Jinny.
